Homemade Immune Boosting Tea

Immunity and keeping our bodies healthy is critical. So, why not fuel your body with delicious and nutritious ingredients to help boost immunity and overall wellness.

One easy and effective way to boost your immunity is by consuming herbs and spices that will support immune health. The simplest form of this is a special herbal, immunity-boosting tea that you can easily recreate at home.

The ingredients that you will need are:

Turmeric (fresh or powdered)

Black pepper

Cayenne powder

Virgin Coconut oil

Start with two cups of water in a pot on the stove, and you can alter the recipe depending on how many cups of tea you would like to make. If you have it fresh, you want to start by thinly slicing your ginger root and turmeric and adding it to the pot. Next, you want one crack of freshly ground pepper as this is what will activate the turmeric. Then you will add the peel from one lemon, making sure to peel away the white part as it can be quite bitter, and a pinch of cayenne powder. Bring this all to a slow simmer, immediately reduce the heat to the lowest temperature, and sit for 7 minutes. If the tea begins to boil, it will lose some of the nutrients from the ingredients. Once it is done, remove from the heat and add in the juice of one lemon along with a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil. The fat from the coconut oil will help your body to absorb the turmeric, but you can use avocado oil or grass-fed butter if you prefer. Let the tea cool for about 3 minutes, and then stir in some raw honey to taste, and you are ready to enjoy!

This delicious, cozy, and immunity-boosting tea is sure to be a hit for any time you feel like you need a wellness boost! Turmeric is a known anti-inflammatory, and ginger will help to soothe your gut and boost your immunity. Let this dream team of spices and flavours be the true pick-me-up in your health and wellness routine.
